Do Not Fear Puppet Skit

Do Not Fear Puppet Skit

Here's a Halloween puppet skit I created for our upcoming Pumpkin and Pajama party. For a printer friendly version, click here. Scaredy-cat Scarecrow A puppet skit about fear and the God who can overcome it. Sam: Hey kids!  My name is Sam the Scarecrow.  {Jumps and looks behind him}  What was that?  Did you guys hear something? Leader: I didn’t hear anything.  Did you kids? Sam:  {Relaxes} Oh, okay.  I just thought… wait!  Who’s that? Leader:  That’s just one of our leaders for … [Read more...]

Closing the Paint Can

Closing the Paint Can

There's two more lessons I learned while painting my hallway this week.  Check out the the whole story in Tuesday's and Wednesday's posts. Lesson #4: Sometimes, you have to fix other people's mistakes The people who lived in this house before us were smokers.  They were kind enough to replace all the carpeting and drapery before they left, so we didn't get too much residual smell, but the walls were a different story.  There were little bits of tar buildup and stains everywhere.  You … [Read more...]

Lesson #3: The first color does not always work out We did what every good HGTV show tells you to do -- we picked out half a dozen paint chips (swatches as my husband would … [Read more...]

Painting the Hallway

Painting the Hallway

I'm not sure why I think these "little projects" are a good idea.   Somehow I imagine myself whipping out the rollers and tarps, finishing a paint job in under an hour and drastically improving the appearance of my home.  Oh well.  The project took a little longer than expected (hence the sudden dearth of posts here!), but I did learn a few things about Children's Ministry while applying the blue painters tape. Five Things I Learned... 1. Customer Service makes a difference I picked up the … [Read more...]

Monday Minute to Win It: Jonas Brother

Monday Minute to Win It: Jonas Brother

On Episode 11, special guest Kevin Jonas, part of the pop boy band: Jonas brothers, makes an appearance.  Playing for charity, Kevin faces the household elements on NBC's Minute to Win it  in this old Season one episode. Nose Dive Contestant dips nose into petroleum jelly then use this jelly to pick up a cotton ball.  He then has to transfer the cotton ball to another bowl about 3 feet away (no hands!).  Very funny.  I can see kids getting a headache when they are done with this one! Junk in … [Read more...]
