I hope you’ve been enjoying the 31 Days of Bible Craft series so far. To find the full list of crafts in one place, check out this post. To find a ton of other great 31 Day series, head on over to The Nester. Today’s craft coordinates with the book of Exodus, particularly Exodus 13, where the Bible tells us that God went ahead of the Israelites in a pillar of cloud during the day to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light. Take a look:
You can see the double sided nature of the craft. Simply flip the craft stick over for either the flame or the cloud. Now, let’s take it step by step.
What You Need:
- Cotton Balls
- Orange and Red Crayons
- Craft Sticks
- Fire and Cloud template (grab your free printable here)
- Glue Sticks
- Cardstock (optional)
- Tacky Glue (optional)
- Red Glitter (optional)
Begin by having kids color the flame portion of the cloud & fire template.
If you can, print the template out on card stock to make it a bit sturdier.
Once colored, cut out the flame and add cotton balls to the cloud with glue.
Add a bit of red glitter to the flame to really make it sparkle.
Glue the cloud to one side of the craft stick and the fire to the other. You might want to use tacky glue to ensure a good hold. I made a large scale version of this craft (with poster board) to use as I told the lesson and then the kids made a smaller version during craft time. I used a paint stirrer for the handle instead of a craft stick.
