Day 28: 12 Spies {31 Days of Bible Crafts}

Today’s crafts and activities are based on the story of the 12 Israelite Spies found in Numbers 13.  If you’d like to check out all the posts from this 31 Days of Bible Crafts Series, head to the introduction post.

Lesson Time

During the lesson time, I gathered the kids around a small floor stage and used little people to tell the story.  I created a Canaanite giant using a covered oatmeal canister.

The kids absolutely loved the presentation.  It was new and novel for them and they were really engaged.  They especially loved the “larger than life” grape clusters that the little people struggled to carry.   Kids for Christ, 12 Spies Lesson (1)

For craft time, we made spy glasses with cardboard tubes, construction paper and staplers.  It might be good to precut the construction paper to size if you have younger kids.

Have kids color the construction paper and then staple it onto a tube.  Staple two tubes together for a personalized set of Spy Binoculars!

  1. What kid can resist spy binoculars? I’m sure this was a hit. I just finished reading through Numbers with my baby. Granted, he’s only 3 months and our daily nursing sessions with Bible reading aren’t necessarily going to be remembered, but it’s a beautiful time to cherish with my tiny one that someday WILL have the whole knowledge of God’s infinite love for us. Thanks for linking up with us at the mixer this week. It’s great to see you again!

  2. That’s terrific Jelli. I agree that he might not remember, but soon he will and you’ve already established the habit both in YOUR life (which is half the battle) and in his. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
