This craft coordinates with the lesson of Tabitha (also known as Dorcas) found in Acts 9:36–42. Tabitha was was always doing good and helping the poor, especially by making clothes for others. While there are plenty of fun crafts focusing on making clothes for others, we decided to go a different route with our craft. If you’d like some of those clothes-themed crafts though, stay tuned for some links at the end of this post.
For our class time, we talked about how Tabitha used her gifts and talents to serve others. We talked about people in their lives who do the same (parents, teachers, mail workers, pastor, musicians) and then I let the kids draw pictures about how they could serve others in our hometown of Erie, PA.
Check out their fabulous pictures!
I especially love this picture, drawn by a 5 year girl:
She decided that she would show kindness to people in Erie by giving kittens to everyone. What a great idea! 🙂
