Welcome to Day #7 of the 31 Days of Bible Lesson Extras.  This series is designed to help when you’re looking for “just one more thing” to round out the lesson.   You can check out the full Table of Contents here.

31 Days of Bible Lesson Extras

Today, we’ll be looking at two crafts which coordinates with 1 Kings 17: Elijah is fed by the Ravens.  You can find more Elijah ideas in these posts on Growing Kids Ministry or on my Old Testament History Pinterest Board.

Craft #1: Paper Bag Raven

Elijah and The Ravens

For this craft, you need a paper lunch bag for each kid and a raven template from DLTK crafts.  The instructions are pretty detailed over at that site, so I’ll let you head there!  We also glued cheerios in the mouth to symbolize the food that the ravens brought to Elijah.

Craft #2: Feather Raven

For this one, you’ll need the coloring page from Crafting the Word of God.  The one below is a little different, but I can’t seem to find it again online (let me know if you do!).  You’ll also need:

  • Glue
  • Feather
  • Cheerios
  • Crayons

Elijah and The Ravens (3)

Let the kids glue the feathers onto the raven (black feathers would probably be more biblical, but we used what we had!).  Have them glue the cheerios onto the hand (be sure to have some extras for snacks).    Here’s a closer look:

That’s it for now!  Be sure to tune in tomorrow for more Bible lesson extras!
