Have you recovered from this year’s Vacation Bible School extravaganza yet? Are you energized by the conversations and experiences you had during this summer’s big event?  If so, it’s time to start thinking about next year!  🙂   I know! I know!  It still seems like a long way off, but I couldn’t wait to tell you about David C. Cook’s new God in Action VBS program!  Newly released this year, this Vacation Bible School is packed with adventure, excitement, and a whole lot of fun!

God in Action VBS

As you probably know, I’m a huge fan of the Action Bible (check out my New Testament review here), so I was thrilled to see a Vacation Bible School program built around this version of the Bible.  I love the trading card feature and the easy downloadable format.   The five day program gives a terrific overarching view of the Big God Story and focuses on invited kids to become part of God’s story on day five.  You can download a sample of both the director’s guide and the site leader’s guide here.  Take a look for yourself!

  1. Lindsey,

I went thru the sampler from the Director’s Guide (http://theactionbible.com/vbs//pdf/GodInActionDirectorsGuideSampleFNL.pdf) and it covered the Site Model approach to VBS. That’s innovative and different from what most churches do. Can you share a bit about your thoughts on this?

  2. Wow, Frank — so sorry I never replied to this! I’m taking a closer look at this VBS this year and am about to post a more extensive review today (3/7/2014), so I’ll address your question there.
