Once a quarter, we try to turn our attention to our local community and lead the kids in our ministry towards a heart of service. You can read about our other service projects here. This month, we had a multi-faceted project, focused on showing kindness to those in our community. The kids helped bake cookies, decorate pre-made sugar cookies, and made cards. The cookies went to our local law enforcement and fire department and the cards were taken to a local nursing home.
To start off the night — Taylor taught a great lesson (both visual and kinesthetic as you can see!) all about kindness. Then, the kids were dismissed to the stations!
Card Making Station
Complete with letter stickers, card stock, flower stickers, markers, and a lot more!
Cookie Baking Station
Headed up by our adventurous guys — this station had pre-measured ingredient that the kids could pour into bowls, mix together, and then form into cookies.
Cookie Decorating Station
These sugar cookies were pre-baked and kids added frosting and other embellishments.
It was a delightful night and hopefully geared the kids hearts more towards service.
