It’s almost time for our annual Story Time in the Park program. We’re going to be changing things up a bit this year and hopefully making the program more appealing to kids of all ages. Before I share all those details, however, I thought I’d share some photos from one of our story times last year!
Story Time Theme: Dragons
Books We Read
Craft We Did
In Not Your Typical Dragon, the dragon spews out all kinds of “nontypical” things such as band-aids and bubbles. We decided to let the kids blow bubbles in the same fashion as the dragon (safer than fire, that’s for sure!)
We got some of these super neon paints to add some color to the bubbles.
We searched a few blogs, but couldn’t seem to find a proper ratio of bubbles to paint, but ours ended up being about 1/2 and 1/2 bubbles and paint. We put this mixture into cups and added some straws. Of course, you need some intense supervision with this craft and no one under 3 should do it because of the soap inhaling factor. If kids were young, we encouraged parents to blow the bubbles and have the kids pop them on the paper.
Blow with Caution!
Bubble Popping Fun!
Some bubbles were a little dribbly.
Here’s one work of art!
And a collage of all the bubble fun!
We sent kids home with their own set of bubbles to remember story time!
