Sunday Snapshot: Activities from the Psalms

Sunday Snapshot: Activities from the Psalms

At the beginning of 2015, we began a Journey through the Old Testament, stopping to talk about each section (Law, History, Poetry, Prophecy) along the way.  Here are a few of the projects the kids did when we were studying the Psalms and Proverbs (you can find even more ideas here).

A Psalm of the Girls

Psalms (Writing Your Own Psalm with Kids)

This was written by the Kindergarten small group (who happened to only have girls in attendance that day).  The leader drafted up a template based on a few of the Psalms in the Bible and the kids filled in the rest.  In case you can’t read it:

A Psalm of the Girls

The Lord is great, awesome, wonderful and almighty

He takes care of you and me

He gives me life and death and food and love and water

He protects me so I don’t need to be afraid of the dark, or thunder or fire or tarantulas

I will always love and believe in God.

The Lord is My Shepherd

The Lord is My Shepherd (Psalms Activities with Kids)

This is a project from the preschool class.  They put cotton balls on the sheep and gave everyone googly eyes.

Sweeter Than Honeycomb

Sweeter than Honeycomb

This project is based on Psalm 19 or Psalm 119.  Of course, the kids thought this was super fun to do (just be sure to bring extra for snacking!)

Thanks for stopping by!
