We’ve been working hard all summer on the Esther movie with the kids and now we’ve begun the complicated process of editing our hours (and hours!!) of film. The kids seemed to have a blast and I thought I’d share just a few of the “behind the scenes” pictures with you!
Here’s a quick look at the studio. We put up three green screens across the back and used the lighting, sound board, and microphones that the church already had. We spent $20 on each of the green screens and $35 on the stands. You could also just tape them directly to the walls with Gaffer Tape.
This is a local farm that graciously allowed us to use their horse for an hour to shoot Esther 6.
Haman leads Mordecai through town.
We did a little filming in the backyard of one of our volunteers. Here, Esther and the King spend some time together skipping rocks.
This is the set up for the beauty scene (Esther 2). I can’t wait to show you the final product for this!
Getting the king into costume.
Lunch with the king. In our version of the story (adapted a bit), each candidate has lunch with the king. Our king loved this part because the food just kept coming!!
Some of the lovely candidates for Queen! These girls were so much fun!
Pass the danishes please!
A local business (Kingdom Financial Group) allowed us to use their beautiful conference for the final banquet scene. Here, the camera crew is getting set up.
More food for the cast!
The king and Haman are hanging out in the garden outside during a filming break.
Filming is done and these friends are cleaning up the leftovers!
That’s it for now!
We’re pretty overwhelming with the editing, so if anyone has experience with Premiere Pro CC, please send me some tips!
We’re planning on the premiere being September 10th, so stay tuned for more news!
